Description: Interview of Dr. Richard Stillson by Dana Roccapriore conducted on November 2, 2002 in Hartford, Ct.  Stillson is a prominent gay activist in the Hartford Community.  He has been active in LGBT Civil rights movement, and has been the chair of CT PRIDE.  Stillson teaches psychology at Capital Community College, runs a private practice, and is the director of psychology at Cedar Crest Hospital.  During the interview he describes coming out as a gradual process that began when he attended graduate school in the early to mid 1980's.  His activism in the community began when he moved to Hartford after graduation.  He began to work with CT PRIDE, and then later on began to host and produce drag balls.  These balls helped to raise money for local AIDS charities.  Stillson also talks about a mass marriage ceremony outside the IRS building in Washington D.C. in 1987, and a march at the state capital building in 1999.  He discusses the treatment of the gay community by Hollywood and religion.
